Elliot Page Memoir Pageboy About Trans Identity Coming in 2023

Actor and trans activist Elliot Page announces his new book, Pageboy, detailing his journey through Hollywood, his identity, and his career.

Actor Elliot Page has announced he has a memoir coming in 2023, titled Pageboy. Page is best known for his roles in the 2007 film Juno, which he received an Oscar nomination for, and in Christopher Nolan’s Inception. More recently, he has been seen as Vanya in the Netflix series Umbrella Academy, which is currently in production for its third season. Page came out as transgender in an open letter in December of 2020 and has since been a prominent advocate for trans youth across the country.

In a press release covered by The Wrap, the publisher for Pageboy, Flatiron Books, said that Page is writing the memoir himself. It is said to detail his journey through Hollywood, his identity, and his career as “one of the most famous trans people in the world.” Bryn Clark, the editor working with Page on his memoir

Page received an outpouring of support upon his coming out in 2020, and this memoir should be revealing about his experiences. In his 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Page was very open about his coming out and living his truth, so one can assume that his memoir will be just as telling, if not more so. And Page will seemingly have time to write, as his current projects like Umbrella Academy are now in post-production. More about the memoir will likely be revealed soon, however, a specific release date has not been announced beyond 2023.
