La Brea season 2 release rumors (What we know about the Jon Seda series)

We all love Jon Seda at the One Chicago Center. He will live on forever as PD‘s Antonio Dawson, but he has made his mark as the part of the La Brea ensemble. The first season was praised by critics and fans for its thrilling storytelling, and has since been renewed for a second season.

More La Brea information has recently been released, and they hint at some wildly ambitious storytelling choices. There’s some good and some bad, depending on how one looks at it, so we decided to provide a rundown of the season 2 rumors.

La Brea season 2 scheduling rumors

TV Line reported that season 2 will feature 14 episodes, which is marked improvement over the first season’s run of 10. This offers some thrilling opportunities to delve into characters we know and love, and provide some more insight into their backstory.

Furthermore, La Brea season 2 will continue to split its time between the two timelines that were established in season 1. The downside to this, however, is that the extensive use of special effects and CGI has made it tougher and more lengthy to churn out episodes. In an attempt quell the high demand for the show without cheapening its production value, NBC may decide to split season 2 into separate parts.

This has not yet been confirmed by the network, and its possible that season 2 could air in regular fashion, but it is something for fans to consider as they gear up for its release. The elaborate CGI and the extended episode count are definitely things the showrunners have been forced to take into account when looking at the upcoming fall schedule.

La Brea creator David Applebaum told Deadline that the upcoming season will challenge the cast in ways they previously hadn’t considered.
