Idris Elba Has A Surprising New Project

While Idris Elba made his name in shows like Luther and The Wire, he has become quite the businessman since the beginning of his Hollywood tenure. His latest endeavor is with his wife Sabrina Elba with a project called S’able Labs. S’able Labs is a genderless skincare brand that will be launching three different products made with natural ingredients from Africa on July 12.

Sabrina and Idris Elba are launching S’able Labs with the intention of bringing customers an accessibly priced and simplified skincare line for all skin types. The debut products will include a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer. The Qasil Cleanser will be a sulfate-free cleanser made up of kaolin clay, shea butter, rice milk, and squalane. The Baobob Moisturizer is made up of baobab, niacinamide acid, tranexamic acid, and bakuchiol. The Black Seed Toner used black seed, fruit acids, chamomile, and Vitamin B. S’able Labs is also working with local farmers in Africa to source the ingredients, as they want to make their products as sustainable and climate friendly as possible, while also supporting sustainable agriculture. Inclusivity is also at the forefront of their skincare line, as they make their products for all genders and skin types.

S’able Labs is just the latest collaboration between the married couple. Their website, Hub by S’able Labs explores different aspects of being a couple, featuring blogs and interviews on making your shared life better. Their Coupledom podcast features interviews with duos like Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian and Christian Louboutin and Mika. Sabrina and Idris Elba also teamed up with Christian Louboutin for their “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” collaboration, which launched a second capsule collection in 2022. Recent news also reported that Idris Elba is in talks to support The Miroma Group’s bid to buy the UK broadcaster Channel 4. Additionally, Elba has his production company Green Door Pictures, which produced projects like Concrete Cowboy, Turn Up Charlie, and In the Long Run.

While Idris Elba is likely plenty busy with all his business endeavors, it doesn’t appear to be affecting his acting career. Elba recently appeared in the latest Geoge Miller film Three Thousand Years of Longing as a Djinn summoned by Tilda Swinton’s scholar. He also had time to return to his MCU role as Heimdall in a brief Thor: Love and Thunder cameo. Of course, he also voiced Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which will undoubtedly get a sequel at some point. If that’s not enough, Elba has two more films expected to come out before the end of the year. The first is Beast which will see Elba playing a father protecting his two teenage daughters from a rogue lion on the Savanna. Beast is directed by Baltasar Kormakur and stars Sharlto Copley, Iyana Halley, and Leah Jeffries. Beast is set to come out on August 19. He’ll round out his year reprising his famous detective role as John Luther in a movie based on the series. While it doesn’t have an official release date, it’s expected to come out in 2022.
