The White Lotus Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

1 / 32

HBO’s The White Lotus received such acclaim after its premiere last summer that the limited series, which was intended to last just one season, was greenlit for a second season, which is now filming. (HBO President of Programming Casey Bloys has even said that a third season is also on the table if show creator Mike White is interested.)

The stellar cast of Season 1 included Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, Steve Zahn, Murray Bartlett, Jake Lacy, and Jennifer Coolidge, all of whom received Emmy nominations for their work on the show; but the only cast member to return to the series for season two is Coolidge, who will reprise her role as Tanya McQuoid. Aside from Tanya (and her extremely complicated emotions about her mother), what else can we expect from The White Lotus Season 2? Here’s what we know.

The White Lotus Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

While The White Lotus‘s first season took place at a Hawaiian resort, Season 2 is currently filming in Taormina, Italy. Coolidge’s character, the wealthy Tanya McQuoid is on yet another holiday, but this time, instead of traveling alone, she brings an assistant named Portia with her, played by Haley Lu Richardson.

Additional new cast members include F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli and Adam DiMarco, who play three generations of men from the same family who are visiting Italy together. Tom Hollander, Theo James, Meghann Fahy, Will Sharpe, Aubrey Plaza, and Leo Woodall round out the cast. Hollander will play an Englishman named Quentin who is on vacation with his friends and his nephew, while James and Fahy will play Cameron and Daphne Babcock, a married couple vacationing with another couple, Ethan and Harper Spiller (Sharpe and Plaza). Woodall plays Jack, yet another guest at the Sicilian resort. Italian actress Sabrina Impacciatore has also been cast as the resort manager (may she meet a better fate that Murray Bartlett’s Armond did).

The series shot at the San Domenico Palace, Taormina, a Four Seasons Hotel in Sicily and is reportedly in the final days of production. There is no premiere date set for the second season, but Deadline reports that it should be on the air in time for consideration for next year’s Emmys, which likely means a spring or summer 2023 premiere.
