Johnny Depp Is Taking Amber Heard Back To Court For Millions

It’s been only a month since the court ruled mostly in Johnny Depp’s favor in the case against his ex-wife, Amber Heard, but the two are finding their names in the press once again. Following the court’s decision, Heard said that she was planning to move forward with an appeal, and now Depp is planning an appeal of his own. While in the grand scheme of things, it would appear that Depp “won,” being that Heard now owes him over $10 million, but Depp is upset that he was still ruled to fork over $2 million for her claims that one of Depp’s lawyers made false and damaging comments about her, possibly further swaying the jury in the actor’s favor.

While the war rages on between the two, it seems like there’s no end in sight. The initial trial began back in April in a Virginia courtroom. The reason for the lawsuit was that Johnny Depp was alleging that his career had been ruined and that he was slandered after an op-ed article written by Amber Heard was published in which the actress claimed that she had been physically abused by a domestic partner. The 2018 piece in question never mentioned Depp’s name, but the actor claimed that the speculation was enough and that he found himself booted from Hollywood because of it.

Things got ugly quickly for the two ex-lovers as Johnny Depp took Amber Heard to court for $50 million, something she met with a $100 million countersuit. In her counter, Heard claimed that Depp’s lawyer was actually the one doing the defaming after he referred to her allegations as fake. After deliberation, the jury decided that one of the attorney’s three statements was defamatory towards the Aquaman actress. The statement in question saw lawyer Adam Waldman saying that Heard and her pals “spilled a little wine and roughed the place up, got their stories straight,” after the authorities were called to the couple’s residence back in 2016.

Over a six-week period of crazy stories that fueled every news source in sight, multiple witnesses and analysts took the bench to draw their line in the sand for Johnny Depp or for Amber Heard. Of the disturbing and upsetting allegations put forth, we heard a claim of Heard cutting off the tip of Depp’s finger and an allegation of what would be a dehumanizing situation in which Heard, or possibly a friend of hers, defecated in the pair’s bed.

Perhaps one of the most argued points in the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial surrounded the actor’s role in his major film franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean. The actor claimed that because of Heard and her op-ed claims, he was fired from the film, something that a witness representing the multi-million dollar-making movies said was false. Meanwhile, Depp said that he would never return to reprise his role as the rum-swigging Jack Sparrow, although a rumor was swirling recently that he would be doing just that. A spokesperson for Depp has since come forward to say the rumor was false.
