Jason Aldean and Ryan Hurd are rallying behind their respective wives after Brittany Aldean and Maren Morris got involved in a tense social media feud last week.

It all started after Brittany, 33, made a seemingly transphobic comment in a recent Instagram caption, prompting Morris, 32, to indirectly call her a “scumbag human” in a follow-up tweet.

Now, Morris’ husband, Hurd, 35, is speaking out in solidarity with his wife by writing on Twitter, “Scoring quick points by picking on trans kids isn’t something that is brave at all. And I’m proud of Maren for sticking up for them. Badge of honor to have CO engage in completely normal discourse, too. Shut up and sing only applies to those who you disagree with.”

He continued in another tweet, “Getting a lot of people telling me our career is over, as if the last time she spoke up about something it disappeared. Honestly, we’re pretty ok over here. Tours are good, got a 2 year old we love, we’re f****** fine, and I promise she isn’t going to shut up now.”

“And on another note, I always support and love Maren, I know I’m sparse in the internet but I am proud of her and always will be. For everything she stands for, I do too,” Hurd added in a later tweet.

Jason, 45, also backed up his own wife, commenting on one of her recent Instagram photos with, “MY Barbie!!” in response to Morris calling her an “Insurrection Barbie,” after the comment she made about transgender youth.

In her initial post on August 23, Brittany shared a makeup tutorial to Instagram with the caption, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life🤎✌🏼.”

The “Burnin’ It Down” singer appeared to be supportive of his wife’s controversial caption, writing in the comments on the post, “Lmao!! I’m glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out. 😂”

Some were outraged by Brittany’s post, including country singer Cassadee Pope, who indirectly slammed Brittany in a tweet on August 26, where she accused the beauty blogger of comparing her “‘tomboy phase’ to someone wanting to transition.”

In response, Morris sided with Pope and further criticized Brittany in a reply tweet, where she wrote, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie,” in reference to the 2021 Capitol insurrection following the presidential election.

Brittany later doubled down on her comments in an Instagram Story, where she wrote: “I will always support my children and do what I can to protect their innocence. The other day, [my son] Memphis wanted to be a dinosaur and tomorrow [my daughter] Navy will want to be a cat, they’re children,” she wrote at the time, later adding, “Love is protecting your child until they are mature enough as an adult to make their own life decisions.”

The “My Church” songstress responded with a positive message to the LBGTQ+ community in her own Instagram story, saying, “I will say we can handle this s***. We’ve dealt with idiots, you know, for years saying insanely stupid stuff [to] us. … I’m just so sick of looking at absolute horses*** on the internet and people getting away with it, much less being celebrated for it.”
