“Basketball Wives” star Brooke Bailey announced that her daughter, Kayla, tragically died Sunday. She was 25.
“Forever my baby, Pretty Black aka Kayla Nicole Bailey This is not a goodbye. Mommy will see you soon ,” Bailey wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos of Kayla through the years.
Bailey, 45, also changed her bio to include a tribute to her late daughter that read: “FOREVER Kayla Nicole Bailey 3/2/97-9/25/22 #PrettyBlack.”
Kayla’s cause of death is unknown, but there are reports that claim she died from injuries sustained in a car accident. Bailey appeared to confirm the news by reposting an article about the crash; however, the official cause and manner of death have not been released.
Bailey’s friends, family and followers flooded her announcement with their condolences as soon as she shared the news.
“Omg my heart just broke for you,” commented actress Tabitha Brown. “I’m so sorry honey.”
“I’m so sorry Brooke,” commented beauty guru Zena Foster.
“Omg beautiful I’m sooooo sorry! My prayers are with you im lifting your name high tonight in prayer ,” wrote “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” alum Tammy Rivera commented.
Bailey, who also has two sons, thanked everyone for their outpouring of support, writing on her Instagram Story, “Thank you for LOVING my baby girl. Thank you.”
