See Kate Beckinsale Hanging Out In Short Shorts With Fluffy Kitties

Kate Beckinsale shares some images of her and her friends with their adorable cats.

As one of the best-looking people on the planet, it’s not surprising that Kate Beckinsale sets the internet abuzz every time she posts on social media. Less than a week after showing off her multicolored nails, the English actress shared an image from her living room. The 49-year-old is pictured, casually dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, with some gal-pals and a trio of cats.

For the picture, the actress wears her brown hair in a ponytail fastened with a black bow. To maintain a relatively natural look, Kate Beckinsale kept her makeup simple with nude lipstick and black eyeliner. Referencing the cats, the Underworld star added a simple caption to the photo which said, “One each and a cheeky surprise.”

The surprise Kate Beckinsale talks about is the sticky note she finds on a cat’s tail in the post’s accompanying video. Finding time to maintain an active social media presence, is rather impressive for the busy actress. However, she mostly does it for her mom, and the fact that other people enjoy them is just a bonus. “I know that when she wakes up in the morning, the first thing she’ll do is see what I’ve been up to,” she told Flaunt Magazine.

Away from social media, Kate Beckinsale is famous for fighting vampires and werewolves. But she doesn’t consider herself an action actress at all. Speaking to People after the world premiere of her latest film, the Prisoner’s Daughter, at the Toronto International Film Festival, the actress says she ultimately become pigeonholed after her work in movies like 2003’s vampire film Underworld, which spawned four sequels.

She added that people tend to associate her most with action movies, although the genre is featured the least in her filmography. “But they’re the loudest. So you end up with this odd feeling that people perceive your career differently than you’ve experienced it,” she told the publication. Kate Beckinsale also explained that she likes to keep things different by finding projects that challenge her. “I enjoy things that frighten me a bit,” she said, referencing her emotional role in Prisoner’s Daughter.

Directed by Catherine Hardwicke, Prisoner’s Daughter tells the story of Max (Brian Cox), a tough but proud ex-con who’s struggling to find a way to reconnect with his only daughter Maxine (Kate Beckinsale), and grandson (Christopher Convery), after being granted a compassionate release. But once he begins an attempt at reconciliation, his violent past comes back to haunt them all.

According to Deadline, Mark Bacci wrote the script for the Kate Beckinsale starrer which features a stellar supporting cast. This includes Jon Huertas (This Is Us), Ernie Hudson (Grace and Frankie), and Tyson Ritter (The Idol). Sam Okun, Marina Grasic, and David Haring serve as producers on the project, while Capstone is handling international sales.

Kate Beckinsale is also set to appear in a currently untitled comedy film – formerly known as El Tonto. Written and directed by Charlie Day, the movie also stars Day, Jason Sudeikis, Edie Falco, John Malkovich, Jillian Bell, Ray Liotta, Ken Jeong, Adrien Brody, and Travis Fimmel. The story follows a silent character who becomes an accidental celebrity only to lose it all. The project is currently in post-production.
