See Elizabeth Hurley In A Sparkly Suit Without A Shirt

1 / 48

Legendary British beauty Elizabeth Hurley is in her late 50’s, and still threatening to melt modems around the world with her Instagram account. Her latest post, a shot from the GR LONDON PARIS Christmas photo shoot, features the star, a sparkly suit, and a complete lack of a neckline. The shiny plunge goes down to her belly button, exhibiting the confidence and poise that has defined 27 years of modeling, and an even longer career in acting.

Developed by designer Gotal Ryan, GR LONDON PARIS considers itself to be a slow fashion house, focusing on not overproducing clothing while manufacturing locally in London. Each collection focuses on modern lines, with a current interpretation of masculine and feminine designs, exemplified by Elizabeth Hurley in a traditionally male suit, but with a womanly touch. The Bedazzled star has been turning heads ever since she stole the spotlight from Hugh Grant at his own movie premiere.

Prior to her relationship with Huge Grant, which ended in 2000, Elizabeth Hurley was a relatively unknown actress, with small roles in movies like Wesley Snipes Passenger 57, and Kill Cruise. The star truly broke out on her own alongside Mike Meyers in 1997’s Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery as super-spy Vanessa Kensington, before getting to be a full-on villain in Bedazzled with Brendan Fraser. Starring to show comedic chops, Hurley was settling into a decent career before taking time off in the early-aughts.

In April 2002, Elizabeth Hurley gave birth to her son, followed later that year by her entering a relationship with an Indian businessman. For the next 8 years, the British fashion icon stayed away from Hollywood, before coming back to the small screen on a pair of CW shows, Gossip Girl and Wonder Woman. While her Gossip Girl role of Diana Payne lasted for 14 episodes and warped storylines around her media mogul character, if you read that last sentence and said to yourself, “There was never a Wonder Woman television series,” you would be mostly right.

Starring Adrianna Palicki as Wonder Woman/Diana, the series would follow the day-to-day of the superhero balancing her crimefighting with running an international corporation. Elizabeth Hurley played the pilot episode’s villain, business mogul Veronica Cale, while the show also starred future Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal, and Saw star Cary Elwes. Though the show was not picked up by the network, Wonder Woman led to Hurley joining Gossip Girl, and a career renaissance in roles as an older, accomplished, and powerful woman.

Few women are more powerful than the Queen of England, a role Elizabeth Hurley played for five seasons on the E! series The Royals, one of the first original scripted programs for the network. Once the series was cancelled, the British star took on another powerful role, as Morgan La Fey in Hulu’s adaptation of The Runaways, the hit Marvel comic by Brian K. Vaughn. After a decade of successful portraying morally-ambiguous characters, the latest change in the celebrities career is much lighter, fluffier, and probably a lot more fun to film.

Elizabeth Hurley has now reimagined herself as a stalwart star in British Christmas comedies, first in Father Christmas Is Back with Kelsey Grammer and John Cleese, followed by the sequel, Christmas in Paradise. Finding success with the combination of a tropical location, Christmas, and itty-bitty swimsuits, the completely unrelated Christmas in the Caribbean followed earlier this year. With no currently announced projects, fans of the British bombshell can at least look forward to more stunning social media photos in the near future.
