Avril Lavigne and Tyga were spotted in LA and some fans are speculating they are dating – but the Sk8er Boi star is happily engaged.
The rumors are rife on Twitter, where one person wrote: “Tyga dating Avril Lavigne?!”
“In the list of random pairings I did not and could not have seen Tyga and Avril Lavigne,” said another.
A third person added: “No way was Tyga and Avril Lavigne being together on my 2023 bingo card.”
However, the pair are just friends as Avril Lavigne is in a happy relationship with Mod Sun, an American singer and rapper from Bloomington.

AVRIL LAVIGNE AND TYGA SPOTTED AT NOBU
The two singers were seen grabbing some dinner at LA hotspot Nobu on Sunday (February 19), an upmarket Japanese restaurant that’s a celebrity favorite.
Avril wore a black dress, matching chunky boots and a red bag and the Taste singer opted for baggy trousers, a denim jacket and bucket hat.
Pictures shared by TMZ show them hugging after leaving the restaurant, and they reportedly then left in the same car after getting a bite to eat.
Sources told the publication they’ve been “hanging out together a lot lately,” but there is nothing to suggest things are romantic between them.
To public knowledge, the 38-year-old is still happily engaged to American singer and songwriter Mod Sun and her and Tyga are just friends.
INSIDE HER RELATIONSHIP WITH MOD SUN
She met the Minnesota singer, whose real name is Derek Ryan Smith, in the studio in January 2021 during a writing session for his track Flames.
They appeared in the music video for the song together and the relationship quickly turned into more than just work colleagues.
The pair sparked romance rumors after they were spotted on dates in LA and things became Instagram official in September of that year.
Smith posted an adorable photo of the pair kissing and gushed about his love for her in the caption, writing: “I’m so lucky, I love her so much.”
Then, they walked the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet in the same month – and the rest is history! Now, they’re happily engaged.
The singer popped the question in Paris in March 2022 and Avril shared a series of images on Instagram and wrote: “Oui! Je t’aime pour toujours. Dimanche. 27. Mars. 2022.”
They haven’t posted many photos together recently but reportedly attended a Grammys party together earlier this month.
Mod Sun was once linked with Tana Mongeau, and he also dated actress Bella Thorne before finding love with the Complicated singer.
IS TYGA DATING ANYONE?
Tyga appears to be single in 2023, although he’s had some very high-profile relationships in the past.
The 33-year-old famously dated Kylie Jenner in 2014, and was then with Rob Kardashian’s baby mum Blac Chyna for four years and has a son with her.
He also had a fling with Iggy Azalea, model Carla Howe and blogger Kamilla Osman, but hasn’t been linked with anyone for a while.
