Aitana, Úrsula Corberó or Paula Echevarría: the celebrities who sign up for the ‘Y2k’, the hairstyle of the 2000s

First there were the ‘chokers’ , the floor-length jeans and belted skirts, then the mittens that we thought we had already left behind in the dance classes of A step forward and then the iconic bags that we used to wear . see down the street 20 years ago .

The fashion of the 2000s has been returning, step by step, to our lives for a year. It has found its way into the haute couture catwalks, into the new Zara collections and our trusted low-cost brands and now into our hair too. That’s right, the ‘two-thousander’ trend, which until now Generation Z had managed, has also come to mark our hairstyle : we are facing the ‘Y2k’ fashion.

Dua Lipa, Kendall Jenner or the young Nicola Peltz, Brooklyn Beckham’s wife (one of David Beckham’s sons), are just some of the best-known faces in Hollywood who have joined the ‘Y2k’ hairstyle trend.

But they are not the only ones and, of course, this trend has also crossed countries and borders and has ended up in the hands of other stylists of our favorite Spanish celebrities.

Úrsula Corberó , 33, ( La Casa de Papel or Física or Química ) is another of the pioneering young actresses in daring with this hairstyle. There have been many times that we have been able to see the Catalan, either at events or on her social networks , wearing some of the most representative forms of this fashion: two little bows, bows and braids or collected with loose locks.

The very young Aitana (23 years old) is also another of the most famous faces on the music scene who has made this type of hairstyle fashionable. The singer is a big fan of half-updos that let her long straight hair fall and pick up only the first layer of her hair, either with a small bow or with a ponytail, leaving a few locks surrounding her face; as she and she looked at the preview of the series La última or at the recent wedding of Lele Pons, to which she attended as a guest.

The models Marta Lozano (37 years old) and Jessica Goicoechea (26 years old) have also wanted to follow their example and already at the recent San Sebastián Film Festival, held this weekend, they have boasted of very ‘Generation Z’ updos. Both ‘influencers’ agreed to wear a high and tight updo, leaving a thick lock or two thinner ones outside to frame the face.

But we warn you from now that if you thought that this is only a fashion for the youngest or those belonging to the generations of the 2000s, you are one hundred percent wrong. Paula Echevarría , 45, has also opted for this fashion in some of her hairstyles; like the semi-collected with two loose locks that she chose for the Samsung event in Madrid.

Although ‘Y2k’ fashion does not only refer to bows or semi-updos, but also to other types of styles that have, above all, braids or more stretched parts (like gelled, even) and some loose locks. ring a bell? Surely you have worn one of these styles in high school!

This is the case of María Pombo , Chiara Ferragni and even Olivia Rodrigo ; which we have been able to see with two braided pigtails or a ponytail divided into a multitude of little braids. Everything indicates that the ‘Y2k’ has returned to stay this season.
