Game of Thrones prequel House of The Dragon season 2 is currently in the works at HBO. So far, fans have showered the fantasy epic with love, just like its predecessor, dishing out characters, storylines, sceneries, and everything else that makes it so engaging. However, fans of the original series miss some of their favorite Houses that haven’t received much spotlight in House of The Dragon, one of them being House Stark. Fortunately, we will be visiting Winterfell in season 2, and meet one of the most famous Starks of all time.

Who will play Lord Cregan Stark in House of The Dragon?

So far, the news was kept under wraps, but thanks to a report recently leaked by the Twitter account westerosies, that has been fairly consistent about accurately predicting news about the show, we now have a name behind the young Lord of Winterfell. According to the rumor, Lord Cregan Stark will be played by none other than Vikings Valhalla star Leo Suter. The news is further confirmed by the fact that both Fabien Frankel & Emma D’Arcy recently started following him on Instagram.

Who is Lord Cregan Stark?

Cregan Stark was the Lord of Winterfell and head of House Stark during the reigns of Kings Viserys I, Aegon II, Aegon III, and Daeron I Targaryen. He was well-known as one of the realm’s best swordsmen. He had a formidable and authoritative presence, which contributed to making him a strong leader. Towards the end of the war, Cregan was a crucial participant in putting Rhaenyra’s son Aegon III on the throne.

When will House of The Dragon return?

The filming of House of The Dragon season 2 is currently in pre-production, with several scripts being rewritten by George R. R. Martin. HBO chief Casey Bloys has confirmed in an indirect way that House of The Dragon won’t be coming back before the summer of 2024.
