It has been more than a decade since Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling fell for each other on the set of a movie. And now, the life partners and parents of two are looking back at their love story.
Mendes this Tuesday shared two throwback photos of her and Gosling while filming The Place Beyond the Pines.
“Luke & Romina🖤 Mi socia @scondito just sent me this telling me it’s been 10 years since this film came out. Feels like lifetimes ago.”
The actors met in 2011 to work on the film, and that same September, they were spotted on a PDA-filled date at Disneyland’s California Adventure Park.
They have been together since, and though they are notoriously low-key and private about their family life and romance, they’ve publicly shown their love for one another in different ways.
In 2015, the Crazy Stupid Love star famously gushed about Mendes during an interview with Hello! When asked by his interviewer what qualities he looks for in his ideal woman, he said, “That she’s Eva Mendes. There’s nothing else I’m looking for.”
The two welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda Amada Gosling, a year earlier, and in 2016 welcomed another, Amada Lee Gosling.
Last November, the Hitch star sparked marriage rumors when she shared a photo of herself on Instagram displaying her inner-wrist tattoo. The design spells “de Gosling” and is evidently a sweet ode to the actress’s longtime love. It also might be a sign that they are, in fact, hitched. In Hispanic culture, when a woman gets married to a man, the husband’s last name is often added onto the woman’s original name using “de” or “of.” So Mendes’s name could be Eva Mendes de Gosling. But knowing the secretive pair, we’ll probably never find out.
