Carol Vorderman breaks silence on I’m A Celebrity South Africa saying ‘it was brutal’

Carol Vorderman has broken her silence about I’m A Celebrity Africa, admitting to fans that it was “brutal”.

The Countdown legend, 62, teased what viewers can expect from the all-star show which will also feature Shaun Ryder, Helen Flanagan, Phil Tufnell, Jordan Banjo, Paul Burrell, Amir Khan, Janice Dickinson and Fatima Whitbread.

Sharing an update with her 324,000 Instagram followers, she wrote: “We filmed late last year. I haven’t told a soul what happened. But I can tell you it was brutal,” followed by two stunned-face emojis.

The pre-recorded jungle special is set to return to our screens every weekday from Monday 24 April.

The show, which as usual will be fronted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, will air for three weeks.

The start date, which has not been confirmed by I’m A Celeb broadcaster ITV, is still subject to change.

This time, all the participants in camp have experienced the famously gruelling show before in Australia and are giving it another go.

Ant and Dec revealed the nine stars who will be kicking off the show on last week’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

The Sun revealed the full line-up last year, which also includes Andrew Whyment, Dean Gaffney, Gillian McKeith, Georgia Toffolo, Myleene Klass and Joe Swash.

Ant and Dec, both 47, have promised that the challenges and trials would be “bigger and wilder than we could have hoped for”.

However, the format will be different this time as the show isn’t being shown live.

It was filmed in Kruger National Park, South Africa, where the Aussie version of the show is shot, in November 2022.

ITV have not revealed how participants are ‘evicted’ from the camp, nor how the winner is chosen.
