According to Deadline, a Netflix spokesperson said the show had reached a natural conclusion, with storylines wrapped up for the key characters.

The news of the show’s end comes just a day after its lead actress Sarah Shahi admitted she ‘did not have support’ while filming season two.

There was speculation that Sex/Life would not be renewed after the news that Sarah had been cast as the lead in a pilot for ABC called Judgement.

The show also starred Mike Vogel as Billie’s husband Cooper while Brad was portrayed by Adam Demos.

Sarah wasn’t shy about voicing her criticisms of the working environment on Sex/Life during an appearance on the Not Skinny Not Fat podcast earlier this month.

She said: ‘I’m not going to put it down, but I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show.

‘It became a much different thing for me, and I’m not afraid to say that.

‘That’s part of what I do. I’m not always gonna get along or agree with a filmmaker.

‘I’m not always gonna like what I have to do or say. But that’s my job, to make it believable.’

She added: ‘I’m never gonna work for Netflix again now after saying all this, but I can’t lie.’

Priot to her role in Sex/Life, Sarah was also known for appearances in the shows Person of Interest and Reverie.
