Helen Skelton shares answer to ‘boyfriend’ question following ex Richie Myler’s new arrival

Helen Skelton admitted that being in a relationship has never been her only priority

Helen Skelton has shared her brilliant response she used when asked if she had a boyfriend during her time on Blue Peter.

The former Strictly Come Dancing Star is currently enjoying the single life and doesn’t appear to be in any hurry to enter a new relationship.

She split with ex-husband Richie Myler a year ago, five months after their third child together. Richie recently had a baby with his new partner earlier this month.

During an interview with Grazia magazine, Helen said that she has always been an independent spirit and admitted that being in a relationship has never been her only priority.

While preferring not to comment on Richie’s new relationship Helen also shared the response she used to give to anyone who asked if she had a boyfriend during her time on Blue Peter.

The mum-of-three said: “I was travelling all around the world, and seeing and doing incredible things. And whenever I came home and caught up with people, all they would ask is, ‘have you got a boyfriend?’ I was like, ‘no, but I’ve got a few world records’.”

It comes as Helen recently addressed rumours that she is dating Strictly Come Dancing professional Vito Coppola.

She spoke out on her BBC Radio 5 Live Sunday show after being teased by her co stars. While chatting to guests including Nick Knowles and James Cracknell she briefly addressed rumours that she has “gotten close” to Vito while on the recent Strictly Come Dancing tour, reports Mirror Online.

Newsreader Steve who brought up the topic and teased Helen live on air. He said: “Just looking at the papers. Er, the front page of the Mirror is interesting.”

Helen could be heard bursting into an awkward laughter and asked Steve to: “Put the papers down, thank you.”
