Sometimes (many times!) Hollywood can be a cruel place. Actors and actresses drop off the face of the earth for one reason or another. Some slowly fade away, giving in to the younger, better looking version of themselves, their replacement model. Such is not the case for longtime model and actress Elizabeth Hurley. While she may not be completely tearing up Hollywood, Elizabeth Hurley has not gone anywhere, and she most definitely is not out of sight.
WHICH CAME FIRST?
Many think that Hurley’s modeling career is what got her into acting but the truth of the matter is that her acting got her into modeling. Hurley began her acting career when she was 22 years old starring in the 1987 film Aria. She then made her presence known on British TV series such as Gems, Inspector Morse, and Rumpole of the Bailey.
Hurley’s film career was not necessarily hit or miss early on, but more steady than anything. She found herself starring in the movies Kill Cruise and The Long Winter. Nothing to get excited over until 1992 when she took a role opposite Wesley Snipes in Passenger 57.
While that movie didn’t exactly jump start her career, Hurley continued to get work. But in 1995, things changed for Elizabeth Hurley. This was when she was introduced as a spokesmodel for cosmetic giant Estée Lauder, an on-going relationship Hurley has had for 25 years.
VANESSA KENSINGTON AND THE DEVIL
Two of Elizabeth Hurley’s most memorable movie roles undoubtedly have been in the Mike Myers spy spoof comedy Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (as well as a brief cameo in its sequel Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me) and the turn she took as the Devil in the remake of Bedazzled.
The first Austin Powers movie was a wonderfully funny comedy where Elizabeth Hurley gamely held her own to Myers’ wacky Austin Powers. In fact, Hurley took home her one and only acting award, the ShoWest Supporting Actress of the Year, for her role in Austin Powers.
In Bedazzled, Hurley’s role as the Devil was eye-popping as she played it straight and sexy to a befuddled loser portrayed by Brendan Fraser. The movie was a remake of the 1967 classic of the same name which starred Dudley Moore, Peter Cook, and Raquel Welch.
ELIZABETH HURLEY’S PERSONAL LIFE
For a while there, Elizabeth Hurley’s personal life was more on the front burner than her acting and modeling career. She met actor Hugh Grant in 1987 while she was an unknown actress working on one of her first films. They continued their relationship through Grant’s rise in Hollywood and Hurley even stood by his side when in 1995, Grant was caught receiving oral sex from prostitute Divine Brown while parked on Hollywood’s Sunset Blvd. Give Hurley credit, she lasted another five years with Grant before they split in 2000.
Elizabeth Hurley’s personal life took another hit in 2002 when she gave birth to her son Damian. American businessman and Shangri-La Entertainment founder Steve Bing denied he was the father though eventual DNA tests came back proving otherwise.
Elizabeth then took her talents to Indian textile heir Arun Nayar and in 2007 the couple married. Her marriage to Nayar lasted until 2011 when Hurley filed for divorce citing “unreasonable behavior” on Nayar’s part. Hurley then began a relationship with Australian cricketer Shane Warne and the two even got engaged. That relationship didn’t last either though.
ELIZABETH HURLEY STILL WORKING STEADILY
Elizabeth Hurley’s personal struggles have never slowed her down and that continues to be the case. In 2011, she pulled in a recurring role in the hit series Gossip Girl and has since gone on to star in a few films and TV series.
She portrayed Queen Helena in all four seasons of The Royals while also being part of the Hulu series, Marvel’s Runaways in 2019. Elizabeth Hurley has stayed active as an actress and looks to continue that trend in her upcoming CBS comedy, an untitled project where she plays the mother of New Girl’s Hannah Simone.
AGE IS JUST A NUMBER
At least this is what we’ve been led to believe. But some people defy their age. Elizabeth Hurley is 56-years-old, but by looking at her, you’d never guess it.

NO SUMMERTIME BLUES HERE
It is officially summertime, and we all know what that means for us Elizabeth Hurley fans. Her Instagram is about to blow up with as many summer bikini pics as our favorite Austin Powers cohort can find time to post. In fact, she jumped the official start of summer by recently posting herself in her favorite Ebony bikini, letting her nearly 2.5 million followers know that the beach and pool wear is 30% off.
You wouldn’t know it by Hurley’s always sunny disposition, but she is coming off some bad news as far as her professional life goes. She was set to star in a sitcom opposite Hannah Simone and Taran Killam, Welcome to Georgia, that was passed on by CBS. Although that news was obviously upsetting, it hasn’t stopped Hurley from finding more work.
Up next for Hurley is The Piper, a fantasy horror story about Liz (Hurley) who moves to a small town with her daughter, Amy. After her mom takes a job at the local school, Amy hears about the legend of The Piper from a street magician and decides she wants to see if the legend is true.
After that, Hurley will star in Christmas in the Caribbean as a jilted bride who decides to spend December in the Caribbean after her nuptials go south. With her bridesmaids in tow, she will attempt to put her life back together and maybe find the man of her dreams. Or at least one who won’t leave her hanging at the altar.
Most recently, though, Hurley was spotted (there was no way she could be missed, as you will see) at the Raffaello Summer Day event in Berlin, Germany. She was photographed at the event wearing a stunning, low-cut, red gown complete with a tulle skirt. As always, she looked amazing.
Hurley continues to defy Father Time and has no problem rubbing it in his face, much to the delight of her legions of fans. When she isn’t posting her bikini pics, she is posting the fun she loves to have.
With how active Elizabeth Hurley is these days on social media, we’re are always getting updates on not only her fashion but just how she is continually tapping into the Fountain of Youth. It is a testament to her staying power that she continues to be a social media darling.
