Best Horror Movies On Netflix With Sexy Female Leads
Sexy female leads show up in the best and worst horror movies, with the familiar trope of the “final girl” becoming a staple of the entire genre. Of course, those sexy leads sometimes end up in very bad movies (for example, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is dazzling, but we can’t look you in the eye and recommend you watch the 2011 version of The Thing).
If you’re in the mood for great horror movies that also have sexy leads, we’ve got you covered, keep reading to discover our favorites you can stream on Netflix today.
5- The Ring
While horror purists often insist that you should watch the original Japanese film, the part of us that prefers watching dubbed anime (yeah, we said it) really enjoys watching the 2002 The Ring on Netflix. At this point, the story of this film needs little introduction: simply put, this is the movie about the cursed videotape where the creepy girl comes out of the TV and kills her victims, leaving nothing but horrific corpses behind.
Of course, “horrific” is the last description we’d give to Naomi Watts, whose great beauty is only overshadowed by her amazing performance as the lead in this film.
Zombieland is one of our favorite horror movies on Netflix for several reasons, including its hilarious comedy and over-the-top action scenes involving zombies (including the tongue-in-cheek references to who could get “zombie kill of the week”). But the real secret weapon of this movie is its killer cast.
While Woody Harrelson frequently manages to steal the show, most of the narrative momentum falls on the shoulders of Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone. Stone is at her radiant best in this film, combining beauty and brains into a complex and captivating character that we’d follow to the ends of the Earth (even if it meant learning to love cardio).
3- Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Hot take incoming: while Zack Snyder became known primarily as a superhero director thanks to films like Watchmen and Man of Steel, he is at his best with horror movies, and you can see his spooky directorial debut by streaming Dawn of the Dead on Netflix.
Once you get past the inevitable fact that this remake isn’t as good as the George Romero original, you’ll discover there is a lot to love about the film, including an awesome script by James Gunn (another horror guy now best known for superhero films). Another thing we loved was Sarah Polley, whose lead character is every bit as resourceful as she is easy on the eyes.
Underworld is a movie that combines horror and action in the finest tradition of Blade, and that’s not a coincidence: when you stream this 2003 vampire movie on Netflix, it’s impossible not to notice the influence of the hit Wesley Snipes franchise that kicked off back in 1997.
Fortunately, Underworld weaves its own unique story of a centuries-old struggle between vampires and werewolves, and the whole thing is anchored by Kate Beckinsale’s iconic performance as the vampire Selene. If you’ve never watched the film before, you’ll have to trust us when we say that watching her sexy vampire do gunplay acrobatics in a leather trenchcoat is a whole-ass mood unto itself.
1- The Babysitter: Killer Queen
If you’re a horror fan, you probably already know that Netflix is often hit-or-miss when it comes to original spooky programming, but they really knocked it out of the park with The Babysitter starring Samara Weaving as a sitter with a killer secret.
The Babysitter: Killer Queen follows up on the sharp writing and awesome performances from the original movie by bringing in rising scream queen Jenna Ortega alongside Samara Weaving. The final result is the rare horror sequel that lives up to the original, and with a narrative excuse to bring Bella Thorn’s character back as well, this film is never lacking for lovely ladies.
